Two premieres for composer’s 80th birthday
Zygmunt Krauze presents his new works: Declaration and Francesco
There has been a prapremiere of a Declaratiom for 14 instruments, two voices and electronics by Zygmunt Krauze on the Sacrum Profanum festival in Cracow. 70 years after the universal declaration of human rights has been created and 100 years after regaining independence by his homeland – Poland, Krauze is taking under consideration the general condition of contemporary societies.
Next prapremierę is coming in Gdansk. Zygmunt Krauze’s Francesco for organ and baroque ensemble is using the unique instrument – fully restored, 400 years old organ made by Merten Friese. This piece will be performed by the Goldberg Baroque Ensemble on the October 21st in the Holy Trinity Church in Gdansk.
Both pieces are supported by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from funds of Culture Promotion Funds, as a part of the Composing Commisions program realized by the Music and Dance Institute.
In 2018 Zygmunt Krauze is celebrating his 80th birthday.
